As the richest person in the world, Elon Musk is the founder and the head of SpaceX and Tesla. As of 2022, he has a net worth of approximately $221.4 billion. 

He is also the founding father of The Boeing Company and Co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI, and recently took over Social Media giant Twitter. Born in 1971, Elon Reeves Musk, in 2002, founded SpaceX, an aerospace and space transport services manufacturing firm, and has proceeded ever since to become the company’s chief engineer and CEO. 

In 2004 he got involved with Tesla Inc., a clean energy company, as an early investor and he went on to become the chairman, product architect, and eventually the CEO of the company by 2008. With a net worth of $136 billion, Jeffrey Preston Bezos is an American entrepreneur, investor, media proprietor, computer engineer, and commercial astronaut, who founded one of the biggest e-commerce companies in the world, Amazon

Bezos is the executive chairman and former president and CEO of the company. Born in 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bezos is currently the second richest person in the world and was the wealthiest of them all from 2017 to 2021, with Amazon stock prices going through the roof in the last 2 years. 

3. Bill Gates:

He founded Microsoft Inc., alongside his childhood friend Paul Allen back in 1975. Besides being a business tycoon, he is also known for his philanthropic efforts to expend his wealth on helping the deprived through the Milinda and Gates Foundation, which was co-founded by Bill and his now ex-wife Milinda Gates. 

4. Larry Ellison: 

Born on August 17, 1994, Lawrence Joseph Ellison, is the co-founder, executive chairman, and CEO of Oracle Corporation. With a net worth of $97 billion, Larry Ellison is one of the richest American billionaires with 98% ownership of Lanai Island in the Hawaiian Archipelago. While working at Ampex in the early 70s, he founded Oracle after being influenced by Edgar Codd’s research on relational databases in IBM. 

Oracle later went on to distribute its services and sell them to mid and low-range systems and later compete with Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server. In 2010, Oracle acquired control of The MySQL source database that was formerly acquired by Sun Microsystems in 2008. Born in 1930 in Nebraska, Buffet graduated from Columbia School and went on to become the founder of Buffet Partnership Ltd., that later on acquired a textile company called Berkshire Hathway, to create a diversified holding company, which was later joined by Charlie Munger, in 1978. Buffet has been the chairman and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathway since 1970 and has been referred to as the “Oracle” or “Sage” of Omaha by global media and is also known for his philanthropic mindset and his frugality despite his vast wealth and net worth of $96.3 billion.

Hailing from the Soviet Union, Sergey Brin is a computer scientist, internet entrepreneur, and business magnate who was the other co-founder of Google and the president of Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. After moving to the United States at the age of six, Sergey Mikhailovich Brin, earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, College Park, in Mathematics and Computer Science, and started pursuing a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Stanford, where he met Larry Page and suspended his to build a web search engine with him.

After it gained popularity among the masses, they decided to start up Google from a garage in Menlo Park. With a net worth of $90 billion, Sergey Brin is the eighth richest person in the world and among the richest American billionaire in 2022. 

8. Steve Ballmer: 

Born in 1956, Steve is the current owner of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association, Ballmer was hired by Bill Gates at Microsoft in 1980, where he went on the become the president in 1998 and CEO from 2000 to 2014, replacing Bill Gates. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Ballmer attended Lawrence Technological University and graduated as a valedictorian from a private school in Detroit with a perfect score of 800 on the mathematics section of SAT.

On June 11, 1980, he proceeded to become the 30th employee of Microsoft, and the first business manager hired by Gates. He was an integral factor in Microsoft’s growth as one of the richest companies in the world due to significant contributions like Microsoft’s development of the .NET Framework and other developments throughout all these years. With a net worth of $86 billion, he is among the richest American billionaires as of June 2022.

9. Michael Bloomberg: 

As an American businessman, philanthropist, and author, Michael Bloomberg, started his career as an employee at the securities brokerage Salmon Brothers. In 1981 he founded Bloomberg LP, a financial, software, and, media firm that is also known as Bloomberg Terminal. As of June 2022, he was listed as the 6th richest person in the world by Forbes with an estimated net worth of almost $82 billion. He was also elected as the 108th Mayor of New York City and the third Jewish mayor of the city, where he held his office for three consecutive terms, winning the re-elections in 2005 and 2009. 

As the mayor and one of the richest philanthropists in existence, he developed public charter schools, rebuilt infrastructure, promoted gun control,h public health development initiatives, and significant rezoning of large areas of the city after the 9/11 attacks.

10. Julia Koch: 

With a net worth of $60 billion, Julia Margaret Flesher Koch, is one of America’s biggest and richest philanthropists. Although born to a farmer family, her parents Margaret and Frederic Flesher were owners of a furniture store called Flesher’s. After spending her childhood in Indianola, Iowa, she moved to Arkansas and graduated from the University of Arkansas, and worked as a model, until she moved to New York City.
