For over 20 years, the International Business Association (IBA) has been bringing together entrepreneurs, top managers, innovators, and business leaders from around the world. The IBA’s goal is to form a professional community, create a business elite, and promote the development of international economic relations. Today, the IBA includes members representing key sectors of the economy, from IT and finance to engineering and construction.
In 2023, Igor Vykhrystiuk, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and Head of Spec Bud Engineering LLC, a company known for implementing large-scale infrastructure projects in Ukraine, joined this prestigious community. Igor’s path to IBA membership was a logical result of many years of work, innovation, and active civic engagement.
Igor, what does membership in such a prestigious association as the IBA mean to you?
My first meetings within the IBA impressed me with the level of openness and willingness of participants to share their experiences. There is a real atmosphere of partnership here. For me, it is an active business environment where you communicate with people who are changing the world. Here you can exchange experiences, find partners, and gain access to new markets. The IBA provides a broad vision of where global business is heading.
Many people believe that it is difficult to get into the IBA due to the rigorous selection process. Are the requirements for membership really that high?
Admission to the IBA is a multi-stage process that only a few people pass. Candidates must have a successful business with a long history, proven financial results, achievements at the national or international level, as well as recommendations from reputable entrepreneurs and current members of the association. After the documents are checked, the applicant undergoes an online interview, and the final decision is made by the IBA Council. I successfully completed this process and joined the IBA.
What are the benefits of participating in such a prestigious association as the IBA for doing business?
Becoming a member of the IBA means joining the circle of recognized business leaders who shape global trends and create new markets. It is a prestigious status recognized in international business circles and an additional opportunity to represent the interests of Ukrainian business on the global stage. For Ukrainian businesses, it is a chance to promote Ukrainian engineering developments among foreign partners, and for foreign partners, it is an opportunity to implement business ideas in the Ukrainian market.
The IBA brings together leaders in various industries to implement joint projects, organizes international forums, conferences, and business meetings, promotes the implementation of innovations and modern technologies, attracts investment in promising business initiatives, and supports entrepreneurship through educational and analytical programs. IBA members have the opportunity to participate in closed events, gain access to analytics and international contact databases, and influence the association’s strategic decisions.
Igor, in addition to your successful entrepreneurial activities, you are known as the author of innovative solutions, in particular the development of “WormNET”, for which you received a state grant. Please tell us more about this technology and its capabilities.
“WormNET” is an autonomous module that allows food waste to be efficiently converted into high-quality organic fertilizers using earthworms. The technology minimizes emissions, reduces the load on waste processing systems, and creates a closed ecological cycle. “WormNET” can be scaled from private homes to large food industry enterprises. This technology can be integrated into commercial processes or attract investors through its environmental impact. This approach combines economic benefits and care for the environment, which is very relevant today.

Thank you! I am always happy to share my experience and knowledge. I have ambitious plans to present “WormNET” and my technological developments in the construction of treatment systems at international forums and to attract partners for its implementation in Europe and the USA. I hope my example will inspire other entrepreneurs to create solutions that benefit both business and society.
