Interview with Canadian Entrepreneur & Real Estate Developer Sean Erez

Sean Erez Interview

Sean Erez is a Montreal-based entrepreneur and real estate developer known for building several customer-oriented, successful businesses. having successfully brought his e-commerce companies Shop Under and Zee Apparel into the international spotlight, Sean shifted his focus to multi-residential real estate. He now manages several luxury apartments in Montreal, where his goal is to improve the standard of urban living through thoughtful design, attention to detail, and tenant-first management.

Q: What sets your approach to real estate apart from others in a city like Montreal?

SEAN EREZ: Montreal is an incredible city for culture and architecture, but a lot of the heritage buildings don’t provide the kind of modern lifestyle that people want. I concentrate on building homes that are functionally designed, contain upscale finishes, and are in prime locations. We have high expectations for excellence in all of our projects, and we expect to set the bar for what urban living can be in Montreal.

Q: How do you determine what and where to build?

SEAN EREZ: I look for neighbourhoods that have strong fundamentals, like access to transit, green spaces, and community. I also think about where there’s potential to add value. Whether that means reconstructing what’s already there or starting from scratch, the goal is to build something that makes the neighbourhood better and meets a genuine demand.

Q: Lifestyle-focused living is a term used by many developers. What does that look like to you in practice?

SEAN EREZ: I see it as a way to incorporate designs that support how people like to live – so that means thoughtful layouts, well-proportioned shared spaces, high-quality materials, and highly responsive management. We’re creating homes, not investments or temporary digs for renters, and we’re always focused on improving people’s living experiences.

Q: How do you consider sustainability or long-term livability in your projects?

SEAN EREZ: Sustainability is a central part of all of our decisions, from the materials we’re using to the energy efficiency of the buildings. We collaborate with area tradespeople who believe in the same things we do. We think long-term in everything we do. We want to build long-term value and long-term environmental integrity into all of our properties.

Q: What direction do you see your real estate career heading in the next few years?

SEAN EREZ: I’m focused on growing my business responsibly, adding a few key properties at a time while maintaining quality. Montreal remains my base, but I’m open to exploring opportunities in other Canadian cities where this kind of lifestyle-oriented, detail-driven development is in demand. Ultimately, I want to build a legacy of creating spaces that people are happy to call home.
